Program Director's Message

 

The Loma Linda University Department of Anesthesiology believes that the future of the specialty is very bright, not only for the continued value of the contributions that the specialty makes to the science of medicine, but also for the expanding role that anesthesiology offers to the health care community.

Residency Curriculum

 

PGY-1

4 months of internal medicine

1 month each of:

  • Acute Care Surgery 

  • Cardiac Care Unit

  • Cardiac Consult Service

  • Chronic Pain Medicine

  • Emergency Medicine

  • Neuro Intensive Care Unit

  • Perioperative Surgical Home

3 weeks of Anesthesiology

1 week of Transfusion Medicine and Process Improvement Training

Chronic and Acute Pain/Regional Anesthesia  (VA Hospital Pain Clinic)

Preanesthesia Consultation and Education (PACE)

(Some PGY-2 residents begin their subspecialty rotations in the Spring.)

Loma Linda University participates in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) Main Residency Match® with 14 categorical anesthesiology positions each year.
